As a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, our mission is to help dance organizations preserve, celebrate, and amplify their art legacies online. We believe that performing arts are a vital part of our cultural heritage, providing a unique insight into the human experience. Our primary goal is to ensure this legacy is preserved for future generations.
ChromaDiverse, founded by Judy Tyrus in 2019, helps dance companies and their artists rescue, celebrate, and amplify their artistic legacies by creating digital archives. Though well-funded companies can hire an archivist, most cannot, leaving their history inaccessible in storerooms and basements. We aim to lower the practical and financial barriers that underserved organizations face in preserving and leveraging their histories. Accessible digital archives, optimized for dance, ultimately enrich cultural history. Present archives from physical to digital: Our Mission
